MoC Toa Tahu Mata 2.0

My redesigned version of Toa Tahu Mata from Lego's Bionicle storyline.

Okay, so, a short story before we get to the good stuff. I've been into Bionicle since it started, and flame-using heroes were always my favorite at that age (Agumon, Charmander, Guilmon, etcetera) so Tahu was my favorite as well. While I kind of fell out of the universe for a long time, I came back to it from time to time, and only learned that it had "ended" when Hero Factory came around. However, being the huge dork that I am, I immediately thought "I could combine this with my old Bionicle stuff!" So I did. As a kid, I was kind of disappointed how the toys weren't as flexible as they were in the comics and movies, and always wanted something a bit more like an action figure, so Hero Factory's modular construction system was practically a godsend. Especially the hands. If there was one thing I wanted for my old toys, it was actual hands.

So, some details about this. Tahu's Mata form provided a few challenges, particular his left arm: in the toy, he has this weird arm blaster/claw thing, and I was never sure what it was supposed to be. I interpreted it as a three-fingered hand with the arm wreathed in fire (the transparent orange part) as a sort of ready-to-use flamethrower. The body is also deliberately asymmetrical, with certain parts turned a different way or extra shoulder armor or the arms made different. His body is also slightly shorter and stockier than my Nuva and golden armor-redesigns, to make him feel a bit younger and more aggressive/less overtly heroic. I also really wish they made orange limb pieces so I could give him Tahu's orange arms and legs. Anyway! Next is my Nuva and Golden armor versions.
