Hey, I'm back!

1 min read
I've moved! And fiddled around with legos a bit. And written a book! And holy crap is that a lot of messages! D:

So, that's my life. :) How's yours?

And that makes 28. No idea what I'm going to do today. Probably buy a Lego set or something. Anyway, yay, made it another year. It's been an interesting and rough one. Let's see how the next one goes.

It really really is. And it's wonderful what's happened, and it's wonderful what it changes. We've come so very far in not a very long time at all.

But there's still a lot to be done. There's a lot of bad history to still work through. A lot of attitudes have to be changed, a lot of people will still try to hurt and hinder everyone, and there are a lot of countries and places where it's still not safe to be anything other than a straight cisgender person. We still have to look out for each other, we still have to keep fighting, because you know that the people who don't like this aren't going to take this lying down. And we must never forget that this isn't just about gay marriage, this is about marriage for everyone, between two consenting adults, and their rights. This isn't about gay marriage, this is about marriage equality. Heck, this isn't even about marriage equality, it's about equality, period. And we haven't "won" yet, so we cannot give up. Yesterday was a very important step, but we still have a long journey ahead. And we cannot leave anyone else behind. This isn't just about gay rights, this is rights for trans, bi, a, pan, and yes, even straight people. Never forget that, and don't let anyone else forget that.

But we can still celebrate. :) *waves a flag for 6/26*

Hey guys, sorry I've been a little quiet here, but I'm gonna be changing that really soon. In the meantime, here's an update on a big change I'm doing!

Behold, my Patreon page!

Hey, guys, remember how I said I was thinking of opening commissions? Well, I still am, and I'm already working on (and have posted!) a few commissions, but this is something in addition to commissions. I'd like to start writing more, and I'd like to turn it into a job someday. It's gonna take a lot of work, and I know that (even though I don't necessarily grok it yet), but I'm going to do this somehow, someday. This isn't necessarily a way to do that, but doing a Patreon will help me immensely in getting the breathing room I need to grow as a writer and storyteller.

WHY I AM DOING THIS:
Well, as I said, I want to be a writer. I mean, I am a writer now, but I want to get better, and I want to share more of the stories I've come up with over the years with people. This is going to help me do that, to get a little more self-sufficient and grow outwards. It's gonna help with my stress levels, and it's gonna help me work towards making some of my goals happen.

WHAT THIS DOES NOT CHANGE:
I will NOT be locking any of my stories behind a paywall. You won't have to pay for my stories, I'll still be posting them for free here and in other places. There won't be a walled garden of epic masterpieces with only a few freebies thrown to the starving masses. Yes, I will be offering download versions for supporters of a certain level, but they'll still be available to read elsewhere for free. I'll still be offering commissions in addition to this And this won't be affecting my writing speed, though since I'll be working on some longer stories it MAY affect my posting speed.

WHAT THIS DOES CHANGE:
For one, I'll be able to work on more long-term projects, like my books and some of my other ideas, and may even be able to get some of them published. I'll also be able to spend more time writing, since it'll take a little bit of the edge off of needing to work to support myself, and that means more stuff for you guys and anyone else who supports me, so everyone wins! And for those of you who hate how hard DA makes it to read/post stories, I'll be offering properly formatted downloads of my stories soon. My writing regimen of a minimum of two-thousand words a day will not change, and hopefully I'll be able to work on more projects at once, like editing one story as I'm writing another, instead of having to devote time to one or the other. I may even be able to work on my other artistic expressions again, which would be awesome.

AND FINALLY…
Even if you don't end up supporting me on Patreon, I really want to thank you all so much for the support you've all given me so far. And even if you can't donate, I'd love it if you'd spread my name around: if you know someone who might like my stories, shoot 'em a link. And to those of you who DO end up supporting me, thank you again. The responses I've gotten to my stories has been a massive boost to my self-esteem and pride. It really means a lot to me that people are reading and enjoying what I write. And I want to do that more and more, as much as I possibly can. I have literally been telling stories for as long as I can remember, and I've been talking about becoming a writer since high school. This is a huge step in that direction.

Thank you for your time, and have an awesome day.

One month ago, I finally got myself a much-needed figurative kick in the ass, and started a writing regimen: basically, forcing myself to write something every day, no matter how hard. I had to write a certain amount of words a day before I went to bed, without fail. There's a couple of other rules to it, but they're not important right now.

What is important is that I am now a month into my regimen, I have not missed a single day of my regimen, and I have written over 78,000 words in the past month.

I haven't felt this good about myself in a very long time. I actually feel like I can call myself a practicing writer. It's awesome.
